Neighbourhood Area Plan Decision
At the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 19 September 2018, the Neighbourhood Area application for Cookley and Caunsall Neighbourhood Plan area designation was approved.
Wolverley and Cookley Parish Council submitted an application to Wyre Forest District Council on Wednesday 6 June 2018, to designate part of the parish that includes Cookley and Caunsall as a Neighbourhood Area.
This application was subject to a period of consultation to give people the opportunity to comment on the proposed neighbourhood area. Members of the public were asked to make comments on the application. The consultation was open from Wednesday 27 June and closed at 5pm on Wednesday 8 August 2018.

Wolverley and Cookley Parish Council: Application for designation as a neighbourhood area (section 61G of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Act as applied to Neighbourhood plans by section 38A of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004)
Wolverley and Cookley Parish Council as a relevant body for the purposes of preparing a neighbourhood development plan seek designation of part of the parish as a neighbourhood planning area.
The decision to seek designation for part of the Parish was taken by the Parish Council on 1s t May 2018.
That area for designation is shown on the attached map. This includes Cookley, the largest settlement in the parish, and one of the larger villages in Wyre Forest District, and the smaller settlement of Caunsall.
This area is appropriate for designation as a neighbourhood area being:
a) An area of two distinct and separate villages and surrounding countryside;
b) Compatible with anticipated future changes to administrative boundaries through the boundary review;
c) Supportive of work in Cookley to develop a community land trust;
d) In line with current strategic planning policy that identifies Cookley as a named larger "village" in the settlement hierarchy (Policy DS0l).
