TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) (ENGLAND) ORDER 2015 (AS AMENDED)

CONFIRMATION OF DIRECTION WITHOUT IMMEDIATE EFFECT MADE UNDER ARTICLE 4 (1) OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) (ENGLAND) ORDER 2015 (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE is hereby given that on 1st July 2026 Wyre Forest District Council (the Council) pursuant to a decision of Cabinet on the 10th  of June 2026, confirmed a without immediate effect Article 4 Direction, under Article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) (“the Order”).

The Article 4 Direction relates to a change of use of a building from a use falling within Class C3 (dwellinghouses) of the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) to a use falling within Class C4 (houses in multiple occupation) of that Schedule being development comprised withing Class L of Part 3 of Schedule 2 of the Order and not being development comprised within any other Class.

The Article 4 Direction shall come into force on the 20th of February 2027.

From this date onwards, the change of use of a dwellinghouse (C3) to a house in multiple occupation (C4) shall not be carried out unless planning permission is first granted for this change of use.

The Direction applies to areas comprised within all Wards of Kidderminster on  20th February 2027. These areas can be viewed on the map attached to the Direction.
