Polling districts and polling places reviews

Habberley Polling Station review - December 2020

At the meeting of Full Council on 26 February 2020 it was agreed to undertake a further review of polling districts and polling places in Franche & Habberley North and Blakebrook & Habberley South.

A consultation was run between 30 September 2020 and 6 November 2020 but, due to a publishing error on our website, we are re-running the process as the error may have caused confusion to anyone who responded before it was corrected. We will therefore not take account of responses to the previous consultation.

The consultation re-ran from 11 December 2020 until 29 January 2021.

Last year we carried out a Review of Polling District and Places which included a public consultation asking residents to comment on the accessibility of polling places and to make sure we are providing reasonable facilities for voting.

Following responses to the consultation, council agreed at the meeting held on Wednesday 26 February to undertake a further review.

The survey asked residents to comment on introducing a polling place (polling station) in Habberley at Habberley Social Club. Under these proposals, residents who usually vote at Gainsborough House Hotel would vote at either Habberley Social Club or Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Football Club. Some residents who normally visit Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Football Club to cast their vote would see their polling place (polling station) change to Habberley Social Club, depending on their postcode.

Further information available regarding this review consultation.

The survey closed on Friday 6 November at 5pm.
