European Parliamentary elections

The UK is part of the European Union and therefore must participate in the European Parliamentary elections. These are held every five years, the date is predetermined by the Secretary of State. The last election took place on Thursday 23 May 2019.

Wyre Forest, along with 29 other local authorities which make up the West Midlands Region, elects 7 MEPs to represent the region. These elections decide who will represent the West Midlands region at the European Parliament.

The local result is available on our results page, the West Midlands regional result is available on Birmingham City Council's website.

When are the next elections taking place?

Dates for the next European Parliamentary elections in the UK are yet to be confirmed, due to the recent referendum (2016) indicating our exit from the European Union, there may be no further European Parliamentary elections.
