Apprentice Council Tax discount

In order to establish that all the conditions for the award of Council Tax discount are satisfied, please provide a letter from the Employer for each of the apprentices named on the application.

The letter must contain the following information:

• the name of the Apprentice
• a statement that the Apprentice is undertaking a National Council For Vocational Qualifications training course: and the title of the course
• the date training commenced
• the date training is expected to cease
• a statement that the Apprentice is employed at a salary/allowance of no more than £195.00 per week
• a statement that the salary/allowance is substantially less then the Apprentice can expect to receive when he or she qualifies.

If, for any reason, you are unable to obtain this confirmation but you still wish to continue with the application, please contact this office as soon as possible.

You must tell us when and if anything changes.  Failure to do so, within 21 days, may result in a £70.00 penalty.
