Vehicle licensing
You can find the vehicle standards for hackney carriages and private hire vehicles in our Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy. You will also find instructions on how to apply, and what documents you need to send with your application. Download a copy of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy from Worcestershire Regulatory Services.
Hackney Carriage Fares
The fares that can be charged by Hackney Carriages are set by the Council and must be displayed in the vehicle so that the passenger can see them. View current table of fares.

Applying for a licence
Applications must be submitted alongside all required documents and the required fee.
The vehicle will be inspected by an officer before the issue of a licence to ensure that it complies with the licence conditions.

The fees charged in relation to applying for a licence can be found on our licensing fees and charges page.
Reporting an accident
Vehicle licence conditions require you to report any accident within 72 hours of it happening. This is so licensing officers can assess whether the vehicle is still safe to be used as a licensed vehicle.
You should report an accident using the accident report form:

Fill out the form as completely as you can, including photographs of the damage if you can.
