As a public body we are required to publish details of our progress towards meeting our Apprenticeship Target.

The target is an average 2.3% of total headcount who employ more than 250 employees. The target is an average from 2017/18 – 2020/21 inclusive.

Quantitative data

  • Number of employees who were working on 31 March 2020 - 345
  • Number of employees who were working on 31 March 202 - 343
  • Number of new employees who started working between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 202 - 25
  • Number of apprentices who were working on 31 March 2020 - 7
  • Number of apprentices who were working on 31 March 2021 - 6
  • Number of new apprentices between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021 (includes new hires and existing employees who started an Apprenticeship) - 2
  • Percentage of apprenticeship starts (both new hires and existing employees who started an apprenticeship ) as a proportion of employment starts between 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021 - 8%
  • Percentage of total headcount that were apprentices on 31 March 2021 - 1.75%
  • Percentage of apprenticeship starts (both new hires and existing employees who started an apprenticeship ) as a proportion of number of employees working on 31 March 2020 - 0.58%

We will continue to promote apprenticeships across the Council to ensure we meet our target.
