Energy regulators Ofgem provide a reliable source of energy advice for households, including details about energy suppliers, bills and tariffs, price caps, the Energy Price Guarantee, smart meters and the Priority Services Register.
Free and impartial energy efficiency advice
We work closely with a not-for-profit organisation, Act on Energy, who offer free and impartial advice on all matters, energy related. For advice on energy issues in your home speak to one of their advisors by calling Act on Energy’s free helpline on 0800 988 2881. An advisor will be able to deal with your enquiry Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, or alternatively you can email them.
Solar Together

Wyre Forest Household Support Fund
Subject to funding and eligibility criteria, the Household Support Fund offers qualifying residents in Wyre Forest support for energy/water costs and debts and help to repair, service or replace broken heating systems. Contact Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881 for advice on current grants and support available. There are several local and national schemes in place to help reduce the cost of making your home more energy efficient and comfortable:
Home Upgrade Grant
Provide energy efficiency upgrades and low carbon heating to households in England.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Claim up to £7,500 towards the cost of replacing an oil or gas boiler with a low carbon heat pump or biomass heating system.
Energy Companies Obligation Grants
The government’s Energy Company Obligation scheme helps eligible households with the costs of insulation and heating system repairs.
The Great British Insulation Scheme
The government’s Great British Insulation Scheme helps eligible households with the costs of improved insulation. Check your eligibility and apply online today
