Clinical waste, discarded needles and syringes

We do not collect regular clinical waste from households, you will need to contact your GP surgery to arrange a clinical waste collection. However we do offer a medical waste collection alongside your normal rubbish collection.

View list of Wyre Forest community pharmacies undertaking disposal of patients used sharps (non-needle exchange).

Needles, syringes and other drug related items are being increasingly discarded in the environment. There are a number of hazards associated with handling these items and if discovered you should contact us to have them safely removed and disposed of.

If a needle or syringe is found discarded in a park or open space ring us as soon as possible and we will come out and remove it as a matter of priority.

We do remove discarded clinical waste such as needles and syringes that are found in the district. You can report this using our My Wyre forest online portal or app or by calling 01562 732928

When you phone, describe exactly where the needle or syringe can be located and provide your contact details so that if our cleansing team member cannot find the item, we can call you to confirm the location.
