Prize gaming permits
A prize gaming permit is a type of permit we can issue to allow a business to provide facilities for gaming with prizes at a particular premises. This type of permit cannot be issued to vessels or vehicles.
Prize gaming is a form of normally low stakes and prizes gambling in which neither the nature nor the size of the prize is determined by the number of people playing or the amount paid for or raised by the gaming. It can involve a variety of games, such as bingo or roulette, provided that the amount people have to pay to take part and the value of the prizes does not exceed levels set by the Government. The prize can be a cash or non-cash prize.
If you wish to provide this type of gaming and you have not got a premises licence under the Gambling Act 2005, you will need to apply for a prize gaming permit.
