We provide a free service for the removal of dead animals from all accessible areas of the highway. We do not remove from inaccessible locations such as; rooftops or waterways.
Our dead pet policy is to take the pet to the vets and check for microchips, if they are chipped then the vet will then contact the owner.
Avian influenza (bird flu) mainly affects birds. It can also affect humans and other mammals.
Bird flu is a notifiable animal disease. If you suspect any type of bird flu in poultry or captive birds you must report it immediately by calling the Defra Rural Services Helpline on 03000 200 301. Failure to do so is an offence.
Due to the threat of Avian Influenza, if you find dead wild waterfowl (swans, geese or ducks) or other dead wild birds, such as gulls or birds of prey, you should report them directly to Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) on their public enquiry helpline 03459 335577 please select option 7.
