War memorials

We own the war memorials at St Mary's Church and the cemetery, there are no other council owned ones that are located on land that is accessible to the public.

However there are memorial plaques located inside some of our buildings (such as the plaque commemorating those who served in the Boer War, on the first floor of the Guildhall in Bewdley).

Some war memorials are included on the National Heritage List for England, some may be included on the council's Local Heritage List and some may be located within a Conservation Area.

Works to a war memorial may require planning permission or listed building consent. Before planning any works you are advised to contact the development management team for advice.
