Crematorium and cemeteries

Wyre Forest Crematorium and Cemetery

This project is the result of a partnership between Wyre Forest District Council and Dignity and is managed by Dignity on our behalf.

Designed to meet the different needs of the bereaved, regardless of faith or belief, the chapel can be adapted to ensure that a fitting environment will be provided for any type of funeral.

The cemetery and crematorium is set in 23 acres of landscaped gardens and has full burial and crematoria facilities with a chapel of rest. The striking modern buildings are set in a tranquil green landscape with wild flowers and grasses, rockeries and a pond with a wooden bridge. Access to the buildings is through a tree-lined avenue.

Kidderminster Cemetery

History

We manage the cemetery in Kidderminster which is set in 16 acres, in a quiet location next to Brinton Park. The first recorded burials took place in 1865 in the non-conformist older part of the site. A chapel was built with a Palladium frontage and although no longer used, is a grade 2 listed building. The cemetery was extended in the mid 1800s and a second chapel built in 1877. Records tracing back to 1865 are held and members of the public are welcome to visit with any queries.

The cemetery supports a range of wildlife with several hundred mature trees including copper beech, oak, Corsican pine and English elm plus a variety of other flora.

Access to cemetery grounds

Vehicular access is off Park Lane, with other public gateways from Holman Street, Castle Road and Woodfield Crescent. The cemetery is always open.

Dogs are permitted on a lead in the cemetery grounds, for more information visit our dog control Public Space Protection Order page.
