How long have you worked at WFDC?
I started at WFDC in 2002 on a temporary 6 month contract as an Admin Assistant in the Revenues Team. It was my first full time job after leaving sixth form college. 22 years later I am pleased to still be working at WFDC, I progressed from a Revenues Admin Officer to a Revenues Assistant, to a Customer Service Advisor, then Customer Service Team Leader and now the Customer Services Manager.
What has kept you working here for so long?
I thoroughly enjoy my role. I love working with the Customer Service Team & colleagues from across the organisation. I love training with the team and I find it rewarding assisting Customers and being able to make a difference to people's lives. I did not want to go to University when I had completed A levels, so starting at WFDC when 19 years of age I have gained considerable knowledge of our organisation and the services we deliver which has enabled me to progress roles through the organisation.
Would you recommend WFDC to a friend and why?
Yes. WFDC is extremely welcoming and offer great employee benefits, such as Annual Leave entitlement, flexible working (depending on role), pension contributions, employee assistance programmes and discounted gym offers.
What is the best part of your job?
No day is the same, I love the variety, the fast paced environment and being able to assist customers. I thrive on the daily challenges and learning new things in a the local Government setting.
Do you feel at home here?
Yes, definitely my second home!
