Trees, woodlands and hedges

The trees, woodlands and hedgerows of the Wyre Forest district are not only important to the character of the area, but are also vital for local ecosystems and for the health and wellbeing of the people of the district.

From the storage of carbon dioxide and capture of airborne pollutants to their cooling effect during hot summer days, trees play a more important part than many people are aware of. As a result we have a crucial role to play in protecting important trees and hedgerows in private ownership and managing the trees within our own ownership in a sustainable way.

Urgent tree related enquiries should be emailed to our Tree and Biodiversity Officer

Tree advisory service

We offer a tree advisory service for private owners of trees who require pre-application advice for works to protected trees or trees in conservation areas within the Wyre Forest district.

The service includes a consultation on what measures and actions are likely to be appropriate to protect trees and those in conservation areas.

Pre-application enquiries should be emailed to treeandbiodiversity@wyreforestdc.gov.uk
