The period for the exercise of public rights commences at 10am on 1 July 2026 and will conclude at 4pm on 11 August 2026.

The following documents will be made available:

  • The Statements of Accounts (including the Narrative Report)
  • The Annual Governance Statement

The Statement of Accounts 2025-26, issued on 30 June 2026, is unaudited and may be subject to change.

The Council’s accounts are subject to external audit by Alex Walling, Bishop Fleming LLP, 10 Temple Back, Redcliffe, Bristol, BS1 6FL (0117 9100250).

  1. From 1 July 2026 to 11 August 2026 on weekdays between 10am and 4pm, by appointment only, any person may inspect the accounts of the Council for the year ended 31 March 2026 and certain related documents (comprising electronic books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts) at the address given below. They may also make copies of the accounts and documents. Please ring 01562 732928 or email customerservice@wyreforestdc.gov.uk to arrange an appointment and provide details of the document(s) you wish to view to ensure relevant resources are made available.
  2. From 1 July 2026 to 11 August 2026 on weekdays, a local government elector for the area of the Council, or his/her representative, may ask the auditor questions about the accounts. Please contact the auditor at the address given above to make arrangements to ask any questions.
  3. From 1 July 2026 to 11 August 2026, a local government elector for the area of the Council, or his/her representative, may object to the Council’s accounts asking that the auditor issue a report in the public interest (under section 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014) and/or apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law (under section 28 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014). Written notice of a proposed objection and the grounds on which it is made must be sent to the auditor at the address given above and copied to the Council at the address given below.
