Tenancy Relations and Compliance Officer

This new post will help deliver the Renters Rights Act 2025 by managing landlord‑tenant relations, resolving disputes, preventing homelessness, advising on tenancy rights, and ensuring housing law compliance in the private rented sector.

Duties include: 

  • Investigating harassment/illegal evictions and other legal breaches in relation to the private rented sector\
  • Conduct property inspections and enforcement activities ensuring that residents can live safely and securely in their homes
  • Working with other teams and agencies to enforce regulations and sustain tenancies.

Community Engagement Officer

This new post will play a crucial role in implementing the Pride In Place project in Kidderminster through working with residents, communities and partners taking an asset based community development approach and empowering communities to achieve.

The main purpose of the role includes;

  • To identify and build upon existing strengths and assets within Wyre Forest communities  using an asset based community development approach.
  • To enable people in those communities to work together to build community resilience and develop positive activities for all, including those people who are often marginalised.
  • To act as a catalyst through building relationships that enable people to act together for the common good creating more resilient communities for the longer term.
  • To support the residents and council in delivering the aspirations for Pride In Place project in Birchen Coppice

Principal Planning Policy Officer

We're looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Principal Planning Policy Officer who is able to work both individually and as part of a professional team to deliver a local plan review.

You will be reviewing and interpretating complex evidence base documents, policy drafting and stakeholder and member engagement.

You will have a can-do attitude, with strong communication, analytical and time management skills and in-depth knowledge of planning law.

Homeless Support Officer

In this role you'll be supporting people who are homeless and living in our temporary accommodation, as well as those we are working with to prevent homelessness.

This includes creating pathway plans into accommodation and support, providing tenancy training for long-term stability, and building partnerships to enable early reporting, intervention, and support for households.

Democratic Services Officer

As a Democratic Services Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the democratic process, working closely with councillors, committees and the Corporate Leadership Team. Your work will keep local democracy running smoothly — from preparing agendas and producing accurate meeting minutes to making sure council business is properly managed and accessible. The role will include attendance at some evening meetings. 

We're looking for someone who's highly organised, has a sharp eye for detail and communicates well — both in writing and in person. Experience in committee administration and minute-taking will stand you in good stead. 

Contract type: Part time (29 hours per week), permanent

Salary:  £28,938 - £30,414 pro rata
