Present: Councillors Mr Jim Baker(Chairman), Richard William, David Nott, Ms Sally Watkins, Ms Sandra Woodhouse, Ms Sue Morris, Andrew Croot

In attendance: Mr S Clee Clerk, County Councillor Dan Morehead and Mr Clive Skidmore.

Apologies: Councillors Isobel Hedges Ward and Emily Bourne.

2475 Confirmation of the Minutes:

The minutes of the last meeting held on 19 May 2025, as previously circulated, were approved and signed by the Chairman.

2476 Declaration of Interest for a) The Meeting and b) Any Changes to be notified to the Registers of Interests and Gifts & Hospitality.

None.

2477 Public Participation:

No representations were made.

2478 Planning Applications:

006 25/0373/HOU Erection of Pool House at Old Forge Farm, Gorst Hill, Rock.

Council recommended APPROVAL for the current application.

007 25/0590/PIP Erection of up to 3no. Self or Custom Build Bungalows at Land Adjacent, The Oxleys, Tenbury Road, Clows Top.

Council recommended Refusal. This development is outside the settlement boundary at Clows Top and lacks clear evidence that a demand is required when the District Local Plan has agreed sites within the Urban Area.

008 25/0449/HOU Proposed side and front extensions at The Shrubbery, Cross Bank, Bewdley, Worcestershire.

Council recommended APPROVAL.

009 25/0464/FUL Removal of static caravan and construction of a 3-bed self-build bungalow at Land Adjacent To Rathenwick, The Hydeaway, Chapel Lane, Callow Hill.

Council recommended APPROVAL.

2479 Correspondence:

There was no additional correspondence.

2480 County and District Reports:

County Councillor Dan Morehead said the Bewdley Bridge would open in both directions on 17th July 2025. The Bypass would be patched in various parts on 17th September. He updated the Council on County Matters since the recent elections and changed the administration at County Hall.

Cllr Morehead discussed the “shaping Worcestershire” questionnaire which closed for comments on 29th June 2025. A discussion ensured and the Chairman asked how the Council felt about the two options, Rock Council preferred the Unitary Worcestershire option, and the Chairman said he would register of support to the questionnaire if it was not to late to do so.

2481 Parish communications

Now we no longer have a Rock & District News the Chairman lead a discussion on our communications within the Parish. It was stated the Cleobury Clarion Magazine featured a Report on Rock PC recently and this was seen as a good way to communicate. The Editor is Mr Jim Reynolds and contact would be made with him. Sally said her Facebook posts was well received within our community but she was aware there were areas like Heightington and Bliss Gate not covered so far. The Clerk would pass on contact details for these areas.

2482 Finances:

  • The council approved payments totaling £13,661.12 for payment tonight.
  • The council noted the current Receipt and Payment sheets for 2025-2026.

2483 Date of the next Meeting:

There being no other business, the meeting ended at 8pm. The next meeting will be held on Monday 30 June 2025 which will be at the Sports Pavilion, Callow Hill, DY12 9DB at 7.00pm.
