Wyre Forest Heritage Trail
Bring history alive and take a trip around the district’s towns using the Wyre Forest Heritage Trail App.
Add a whole new dimension to your visit to Bewdley, Kidderminster and Stourport-on-Severn town centres by tapping into the lives of memorable Wyre Forest characters from yesteryear.
Accessed by an App on your smart phone, you can visit GPS location checkpoints to hear stories and see the lives of local characters who will appear in-situ on your device thanks to the latest augmented reality technology.
Meet the ‘Kid from Kiddie’, Bewdley’s signalman Matt Morgan, Rowland Hill the Time Travelling Postman, Canal Builder James Brindley and many more fascinating characters as they spring to life in front of your eyes.
See what Gary, one of the App creators says in this 2-minute video.

Checkpoints installed!
In September 2024, checkpoints markers were installed at all 15 locations across the Wyre Forest. This makes it easier than ever to navigate the trails! Have you noticed them around Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn or Bewdley?
This video has no voiceover. Instrumental music plays as Wyre Forest District Council staff install large green circular checkpoint markers on the floor for the Wyre Forest Heritage Trail.
