Grants to support flood affected residents and businesses

News release issued:

Were you affected by flooding caused by Storm Babet on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 October 2023?

Community and Business Recovery Grants are now available to help towards the clean up costs and repairing damage.  Eligible households could receive up to £500 and businesses £2,500. The grants are available from North Worcestershire Water Management (NWWM).

NWWM will check applications and distribute the grants on behalf of local councils in North Worcestershire. The money is being provided by the Department for Levelling up, Homes and Communities and the Department for Business and Trade. These departments have set strict criteria to be eligible for funding.

If NWWM already know you that you were affected by flooding they will send you an application form in the next few days. This may be by email or post letter. If you don't receive an application form, and believe you are eligible, please get in touch with the NWWM team by emailing enquiries@nwwm.org.uk.

You may also be eligible for Council Tax and business rate reductions. See Council Tax discounts and exemptions for more information.

NWWM works with the district and borough councils, Worcestershire County Council, the Environment Agency, Severn Trent Water and other partners to reduce flood risk and support the water environment. NWWM investigate, develop solutions and bid for funding for flood defence and mitigation schemes with partners.
