Moorhall Marsh Local Nature Reserve

This little gem of a local nature reserve is situated behind the riverside meadows on Moorhall Lane in Stourport just minutes walk from the town centre. Grid reference SO 80658 71304 (DY13 8RB).

It is a 1.5 hectare (4 acres) nature reserve dominated by wetland fen, with areas of wet woodland on the outskirt. This small site supports a magnitude of fauna and flora with many species of birds and butterflies abound. The wetland nature of this piece of land would seem to have originated from being a remnant of the River Severn floodplain marshland, a now scarce habitat.

A new viewing platform giving a view into the site can be accessed through the wooden archway off Moorhall Lane. This new platform will be open by the end of September 2023.
