Council achieves top one percent in the country

News release issued:

Wyre Forest District Council is one of only five local government bodies to have its accounts audited by the deadline of 30 September this year. It puts them in the top one percent in the country.

The Public Sector Audit Appointments (PSAA) has reported there were 462 outstanding audits that did not meet the deadline.

Councillor David Ross, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance and Capital Portfolio said,

“This is a fantastic achievement, made possible by our dedicated finance team and all other staff who supported the production of the accounts.

In the last two years, the Council was among fewer than ten percent of councils that had accounts audited on time. Now being in the one percent that have done so is a massive credit to our team and their high standard of working.”

Wyre Forest District Council’s statement of accounts 2022-2023 can be viewed on the Council’s webpage.

The Conclusion of the Audit is currently anticipated by December 2023 once the Value for Money Opinion and final Audit Certificate are received.
