Wyre Forest District Council thanks volunteers

News release issued:

More than 25 volunteers were treated to afternoon tea at Wyre Forest House on Monday 17 October as a thank you for all the work they have been doing. The event was aimed at volunteer litter pickers and rangers, with volunteers from other areas such as Bewdley Museum also being invited.

We had representation from local litter picking groups, including The Pickup Artists, The Little Litter Warriors and some independent groups and individuals who regularly litter pick in their community. We also welcomed some of the ranger volunteers who help our team on the reserves, and a volunteer from Bewdley Museum.

Councillor and Cabinet Member John Thomas, who attended the event said:

“I was pleased to welcome and talk to our volunteers at the thank you event last week. Volunteers are a vital asset for the council and we are very grateful for all of the hard work they do for our local community.”

We are always on the lookout for new volunteers, prospective volunteers can join existing groups or can create a brand new one.
