Council services over the festive period

News release issued:

There are no planned changes to rubbish or recycling collections over Christmas or New Year. Wyre Forest District Council is reminding residents to make sure their bin is out for collection at 6am. Any extra recycling can be put out in an open bag or box as normal.

The Hub, the council’s customer service centre, will be closed from 5pm on Friday 23 December and reopens on Tuesday 3 January 2023. Phone lines will be open between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 28 December.

Doing it online is the quickest, easiest and most convenient way to access council services. Wyre Forest District Council’s website and My Wyre Forest mobile app and web portal are all available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

There is another weekend of free parking in all council owned car parks in the district on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December.

Bewdley Museum closes its doors on Friday 23 December and partly reopens on Monday 6 February 2023 with the gift shop walkway into the gardens welcoming visitors again. The Garden Kitchen café reopens on Monday 20 February. The museum fully reopens on Saturday 4 March 2023.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services’ phone lines will be closed from Monday 26  December and will reopen Thursday 29 December until Friday 30 December, 9am until 5pm. Phone lines will also be closed Monday 2 January 2023 and reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2023 at 9am.

Household recycling centres in the district, managed by Worcestershire County Council, will be closed for three days; Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. If residents need to visit the tip, they are being reminded to avoid these three days and to not fly tip by leaving items outside the gates.
