Grab a Jab success in Kidderminster

News release issued:

A walk-in Covid vaccination clinic set-up so residents could get jabbed without booking an appointment, was a resounding success on Saturday 21 August.

265 people attended the four-hour clinic at Kidderminster Medical Centre with 115 people receiving their first jab.

The clinic was coordinated by Public Health in Worcestershire, Wyre Forest Health Partnership and Wyre Forest District Council.

There will be another walk-in Covid vaccination clinic at Kidderminster Medical Centre in September. Further details will be announced nearer the time.

For those who prefer to have a scheduled appointment, all practices in Wyre Forest continue to offer the opportunity to book a Covid vaccination. Vaccines are now available for everyone aged 16 or over. Appointments for first and second jabs can be booked online at - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/.

Councillor Helen Dyke, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said: “I’m delighted the walk-in clinic was really successful. It is great that 265 people had the opportunity to get their first or second vaccine at the clinic. We worked really hard, alongside our partners, to get the message out to residents with posts on social media and leaflets delivered in the local area.

“We understand walk-in clinics can be more convenient and easier for people to attend. Following the success of Saturday’s clinic there will be another one next month – please keep an eye out for more information over the coming weeks.”
