  1. To revoke the current Order and reinstate those provisions save for the amendments proposed;

Statement of Reasons

  1. For the purpose of this Statement of Reasons references to ‘the Land’ shall be to the land outlined in red on Plan A.
  2. It is proposed that the Bridge Street Surface Vehicle Park, a temporary car park in Stourport-on-Severn, is removed from the Wyre Forest District Council  (Off-Street Parking Places) Order (“the Order”).
  3. The reasons for the proposed removal of the Land from the Order are as follows:
    1. The Council wishes to prepare the Land for potential disposal.
    2. The car park has always been temporary in nature. Analysis through ticket sales of the usage of the car park indicates suboptimal usage mainly through displacement from other car parks rather than through an increase in footfall due to the addition of extra parking provisions in the town.
    3. The Council does not believe that the loss of the temporary parking spaces will lead to a shortage of parking spaces within the town as the remaining car parks provide sufficient capacity to satisfy user demand and the use of the land as a car park is therefore surplus to requirement.
    4. The planning permission currently in place for the retention of the Land as a temporary car park expires in February 2025 and the Council does not wish to submit a planning application to extend the permission beyond that date.
  4. Plan A shows the Bridge Street Surface Vehicle Park, Stourport on Severn that is to be removed from the Order.
