Music in the Park – Catering Opportunities for Local Traders

News release issued:

Music in the Park – Catering Opportunities for Local Traders

Wyre Forest District Council is pleased to announce the return of the Music in the Park programme for summer 2026. We have a fantastic line-up of live performances taking place at Brinton Park, creating relaxed, family-friendly afternoons for residents and visitors to enjoy.

To support these events, we are inviting expressions of interest from local mobile catering providers who would like to be part of the programme.

The events will take place every Sunday from 19 July to 30 August 2026, between 2.00pm and 4.00pm, and are expected to attract a steady flow of families and park users throughout the afternoon.

Catering opportunities

We are currently looking to appoint a small number of traders to complement the event atmosphere. Specifically, we are seeking:

  • One coffee or hot drinks vendor
  • One ice cream or cold refreshments vendor

To ensure a balanced offer for visitors, each pitch will be exclusive by category.

Pitch fees

The fee for trading at the events is set at £50 per event, or £300 for all seven dates, which represents a discounted rate. Payment terms will be agreed upon confirmation of booking.

What we will provide

Successful traders will be allocated a designated pitch within the event area, positioned to benefit from visitor footfall generated by the music programme. The events will also be promoted through a range of local channels.

Please note that utilities such as electricity and water are not provided as standard and must be arranged independently unless agreed in advance.

Trader requirements

All traders are required to meet the necessary legal and safety standards. This includes holding valid public liability insurance (with a recommended minimum cover of £5 million), having appropriate food hygiene certification, and being registered with their local authority as a food business operator.

Traders must supply their own equipment, including any power sources required for their operation, and must comply with all relevant health and safety and environmental regulations.

On event days, traders will be expected to arrive in sufficient time to be fully set up by 1.30pm, ready to begin trading at 2.00pm. At the end of each event, pitches should be cleared promptly, with vehicles and equipment removed by approximately 4.30pm.

Environmental expectations

We ask all traders to support the council’s commitment to maintaining clean and welcoming park spaces. Traders are therefore expected to keep their pitch areas tidy, manage their own waste responsibly, and use environmentally considerate packaging wherever possible.

How to apply

If you are interested in taking part, please submit an expression of interest including the following information:

  • Your business name and contact details
  • A brief description of your offer or menu
  • Photographs of your unit, where available
  • Copies of relevant certificates, including insurance and food hygiene documentation
  • Confirmation of your availability across the event dates (full availability is preferred but not essential)

Applications should be sent by email to:
BrintonParkHLF@wyreforestdc.gov.uk

Selection process

Applications will be reviewed based on several factors, including the suitability of the offer for a family audience, overall quality and presentation, value for money, and previous experience of working at similar events.

Supporting local businesses

The Music in the Park programme is designed to provide a welcoming, community-focused experience, and we are keen to involve and support local businesses wherever possible. We look forward to receiving applications from traders who can help enhance the experience for visitors this summer.
