Have your say on the future of the Wyre Forest district

News release issued:

What makes the Wyre Forest district a great place to live, work and visit, and what could make it even better? A new consultation is giving local people the chance to have their say.

Wyre Forest District Council has launched its Spatial Issues and Local Priorities Consultation, an important early stage in preparing a new Local Plan. The council wants to hear from as many people as possible to better understand what matters most to local communities before detailed policies are developed.

The consultation is an opportunity for residents, businesses, community groups and visitors to help identify the opportunities and challenges facing the district. It covers a wide range of topics including climate change, housing, jobs, town centres, transport, infrastructure, biodiversity, health, green spaces and community facilities.

Whether you are passionate about green spaces, supporting town centres, improving transport links, creating opportunities for local jobs or making sure the right homes are available for future generations, the council wants to hear your views.

Feedback gathered through the consultation will help build a clearer picture of local needs, priorities and aspirations, informing the next stage of work on the new Local Plan.

Councillor Dan Morehead, Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and the Green Agenda, said:

"The decisions we make today will help shape our district for years to come, which is why it is so important that local people get involved at this early stage.

"We want to understand what people value about their communities, what challenges they see and what priorities they think should guide the future of the district. You do not need to be an expert to take part. If you care about where you live, work or spend your leisure time, we want to hear from you.

"Whether your priority is supporting local businesses, improving transport, protecting the environment, enhancing community facilities or helping us understand what makes Wyre Forest a great place to live, your views will help us plan for the future in a way that reflects local needs and ambitions."

The consultation is open now and closes on Monday 28 September 2026.
