Change to Cabinet membership announced
News release issued:
Wyre Forest District Council has announced a change to membership of its Cabinet following a decision by Councillor Marcus Hart, the Leader of the Council.
Councillor Ian Hardiman returns to the Cabinet, having been appointed as Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts and Community Safety today (29 October). Councillor Hardiman has been a district councillor since 2015, representing the Wyre Forest Rural ward, and also served from 2010 to 2014. He will be stepping down as Chairman of the Licensing Committee. There are no changes to other Cabinet portfolios.
Councillor Hart said:
“I am delighted that Councillor Ian Hardiman is rejoining the Cabinet. He comes with a wealth of experience, having previously served in the Cabinet in a variety of roles for over a decade, and he served as my Deputy Leader from 2015 to 2019 and again from 2023 to 2024. I am looking forward to working with Ian and other Cabinet colleagues on the priorities set out in the corporate plan, including completion of the important projects at Brinton Park and Bewdley Museum.
“I am very sorry that Councillor Tracey Onslow is stepping down from the Cabinet. I am grateful for all her energy and commitment in the Cabinet since May 2023 and indeed for her previous service as a Cabinet member in the period before 2019. I look forward to working with her in her role as a back bencher. Tracey has also served the district well as a county councillor, including the honour of being Chairman of the County Council for the 2024/25 municipal year.”
