New Chairman at Wyre Forest District Council

News release issued:

The new Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council has been sworn in at the Annual Council meeting.

Councillor Paul Harrison was elected Chairman at the meeting on Wednesday 14 May 2025. He has served as a councillor for 25 years and currently represents the Wribbenhall and Arley ward. He succeeds outgoing Chairman Councillor John Byng.

As Chairman, Councillor Harrison will represent the district at a wide range of functions, including community and charity events, as well as formal openings. He will also chair council meetings and work throughout the year to raise money for charity.

Councillor Harrison said:

“I am greatly honoured to be elected Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council. I am very much looking forward to representing our council and the communities we serve—both locally and beyond.

I hope that my experience as an elected member will stand me in good stead to represent the district with dignity and pride.
Throughout my term of office, I will be raising money for Citizens Advice Wyre Forest.”
