Council pays tribute to former district councillor

Tributes have been paid to former Wyre Forest District Council councillor, Nigel Knowles, who has sadly passed away.
Nigel served on Wyre Forest District Council for 19 years from 1990 – 2002 and 2012 – 2019 representing the Franche and Habberley North ward. He also served as Chairman of the Council from 1996 - 1997 and as Group Leader from 2015 - 2019.
Alongside his work as a councillor, Nigel was a talented writer and authored several works including historical books, novels and plays, some of which were performed locally.
Councillor John Byng, Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council said,
“We are extremely saddened to learn of Nigel’s passing. Nigel was a prominent figure in the Bewdley community for many years and will be remembered fondly. On behalf of the whole Council I would like to send my condolences to Nigel’s family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
