Wyre Forest Wild project underway at Habberley Valley
News release issued:
Visitors to Habberley Valley Local Nature Reserve can now enjoy an enhanced experience following the installation of a new visitor welcome board and way-marked route signage across the site.
The new signage forms part of the Wyre Forest District Council’s Wyre Forest Wild project, which is set to provide enhanced and modernised signage across Wyre Forest district’s nature reserves. The project seeks to raise awareness of these valuable green spaces and their importance to the local environment, whilst making the spaces more inviting for visitors, and ensuring the sites continue to provide a haven for sensitive wildlife. At Habberley Valley, both new and existing walking routes are now clearly signposted, guiding visitors through some of the valley’s most scenic locations.
Habberley Valley is the first of the district’s nature reserves to receive Wyre Forest Wild-branded signage, with plans already underway to roll out new signage across other reserves in the coming months.
Councillor Ian Hardiman, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts and Community Safety, said:
“We are incredibly fortunate to have 15 wonderful nature reserves, conservation areas and sites of special scientific interest across Wyre Forest district. These green spaces are there for everyone to enjoy, and it is important that we make them as inviting as possible and make sure our signage is clear, informative and up to date.”
The signage was installed by the council’s Ranger Service, whose work plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing local nature reserves for residents and visitors alike.
The Wyre Forest Wild project is being funded through £50,000 from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, via Wyre Forest District Council.
