Wyre Forest District Council came into being in 1974 as a result of the reorganisation of Local Government and is one of six districts in Worcestershire.

At Wyre Forest District Council, people are at the heart of everything we do and we could not serve the communities of the district without the commitment, knowledge and expertise of our staff teams.

Around 100,000 people live here. The district is a mix of urban, rural, market and riverside town communities covering 195 square kilometres. The three main towns of Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport-on-Severn and several surrounding villages including Arley, Rock, Chaddesley Corbett and Wolverley make up the district.

Kidderminster, the largest town in the district, is approximately 20 miles from Birmingham and Worcester and has good road and rail links to most major towns. The area's semi rural, yet central location makes the whole district an attractive location in which to both live and work.

We also work in partnership with a number of voluntary organisations and other local authorities such as county, district and parish councils. We employ more than 300 employees and manage a net revenue budget of £12.8 million.

When you join our team you’ll be part of an evolving of council; one that seeks to make a difference, for our employees and to the lives of those who live, work and visit our district. We are transforming, finding new and more efficient ways of working and we all have a part to play.

We believe our employees should be representative of the communities that we serve and are proud of our increasingly diverse workforce. We focus on making sure the services we offer meet the aspirations and needs of our local community with positions in our council at all levels contributing to the district’s wellbeing and smooth-running.
