Flag Flying Ceremony Honouring British Forces
The Armed Forces Flag Flying Ceremony is an annual opportunity for everyone to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces’ community, from currently serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets. We urge Wyre Forest residents to come to the Flag Flying Ceremony and, if appropriate, to wear their full military regalia, berets, blazers or uniform to mark the occasion, so please spread the word.
Monday 24 June 2019
We are one of hundreds of councils across the country that take part in these events. All local authorities are invited by the Ministry of Defence to take part in a national 'Fly a Flag' campaign.
Come and show your support and honour our Armed Forces. A flag Flying ceremony will take place outside Kidderminster Town Hall on Monday 24 June. Members of the public are invited to show their support and come along at 10am.
A small parade with standards and members of the Armed Forces will take place at 10.10am and they will gather for the ceremony at 10.15am outside Kidderminster Town Hall.
Flags will be raised simultaneously across the country at 10.30am remembering ex, serving and past service personnel. The Flag will fly for 7 days.
Armed forces day is Saturday 29 June and the national ceremonies will take place in Salisbury.
