Flag Flying Ceremony Honouring British Armed Forces

Come and show your support for our Armed Forces on Monday 22 June.

A special flag flying ceremony has been arranged by Wyre Forest District Council to honour the British Armed Forces. The event will take place outside Bewdley Museum.

Members of the Parade are asked to arrive at 10am in the Courtyard of Bewdley Museum for the parade which will take place at 10:10am. A Parade Marshal will lead Standard Bearers from Local Armed Force Representatives through the museum and outside to the front of Bewdley Museum.

At 10:15am guests will be formally welcomed by Wyre Forest District Council and at 10:20am prayers will be read.The flag will be raised by the chairman of Wyre Forest District Council at 10.30am to honour the British Armed Forces, past, present and future. 

After the raising of the flag, a local school has kindly offered to perform a few songs. Among those attending the event are members of the Royal British Legions within Wyre Forest, The Royal Air Force Association, The 4th Battalion Mercian Regiment, the Royal Naval Association Mercian Volunteers Regiment Association, The Mercian Regiment, Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Association, Parachute Regimental Association, Royal Naval Association and many more.

The Armed Forces Flag Flying Ceremony is an great opportunity for everyone to show their support for the men and women who are part of our Armed Forces. This includes troops who are currently serving and their families to veterans and cadets.

We urge Wyre Forest residents to come along to the ceremony, and if appropriate to wear their full military regalia, berets, blazers or uniform to mark the occasion.

Wyre Forest District Council is one of hundreds of councils across the country taking part in a week of official celebrations in honour of our Armed Forces. Camping weekend at Stourport-on-Severn 26 - 28 June 2020

For the first time in Wyre Forest an Armed Forces weekend (26 - 28 June 2020) has been planned with camping at Stourport Riverside Meadows, DY13 8UJ by Kidderminster & Wyre Forest Armed Forces Veteran's Breakfast Club and authorised by the MOD (Ministry of Defence). If you wish to help with donations, funding or by sponsoring the event please contact us by email.

They are looking for sponsors for supplying, funding, advertisments, donations and prizes. Their aim is to raise funds for local charities, groups and organisations that support armed forces and veterens in their time of need.

They're inviting anyone to come along and join in with the fun, entertainment and celebrations! Where you can see those who have served and those currently serving in HM Armed Forces.
