Big Lunch

The Big Lunch was started as an idea from The Eden Project to create the opportunity to get the whole country to stop, sit down and have lunch with their neighbours to form new bonds within their communities.

Street parties have been used as a way of celebrating important events with neighbours for generations, Royal weddings, coronations and the Queen's jubilee have all prompted street parties across the land.

There are of course necessary arrangements to make to ensure your event runs smoothly but the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles, has been working on making it easier for neighbourhoods to host events.
