Access Gold is a scheme provided by Places for People Leisure in Partnership with Wyre Forest District Council, to provide support for the district's leading talented and elite sports performers. The winners of Access Gold have earned 1 year's free membership at the Wyre Forest Leisure Centre.
Applications for the 2019/2020 Access Gold scheme will open from September 2019
The deadline for applications is Friday 25 October 2019 and successful applicants annual membership will commence on Friday 1 November 2019

Honorary member - Claire Cashmore
Paralympian (Swimming / Triathlon)
Claire Cashmore- Claire is a honorary member of the programme with her achievements- A seasoned Paralympian, Rio 2016 was Claire’s fourth Paralympics and most successful to date. She entered the world stage at only 16 years old, qualifying for Athens and coming home with 2 bronze medals, a bronze at the games in Beijing in 2008, and a further 2 silvers and a bronze in London 2012.
London 2012 saw a big boost in Claire’s profile as she was chosen to be one of the faces of Channel 4’s hugely successful Meet the Superhuman campaign – she was featured on billboards nationwide and in a number of adverts on Channel 4 speaking candidly about her disability.
Claire’s performance in the pool at Rio 2016 was impressive. With experience under her belt, she won silver in the SB8 100m breaststroke and her first gold in the 4 x 100m medley relay.
Claire is a great ambassador for disability sport and regularly gives motivational talks to children and adults.

Dan Kimber - Atheletics
2018 County Champion for 800m and 1500m Steeplechase, Wenlock Olympics Decathlon Champion 2018, Power of Ten rankings in 5000m, 1500m Steeplechase, High Jump and 1500m
Darcie Hancocks - Judo
Darcie won the British Judo Championships in December 2018 and also won 15 International medals in 2017. More recently she has been fighting in Spain, Croatia and Germany with 2 podium finishes.
Erin Bodice - Cycling
Erin was the 2 Junior Lady in the West Midlands for the One Bike Cross Cyclocross League.
Chris Telling - Athletics
Chris is Worcestershire's Discus Champion 2018, in the County Schools Championship Chris placed 2 for Discus, and placed 1 in the Hammer.
Nathanial Crowther - Swimming
Nathanial qualified for 17 different events at County level, he represented the County at the Three Counties Gala and was a finals swimmer at the West Midlands Regionals.
Hetty Tinsdale - Netball
Hetty plays for Worcestershire County u12, u14, u16 (vice captain), Wasps Stourbridge u9 hub from 2017 until the present.; she was also awarded Wasps Stourbridge Hub Player of the Year. Hetty also competes in the Regional League u14, u16, u19 and the Senior Regional League from 2017 until the present.
Olivia O’Sullivan - Athletics
Olivia competed in the County qualifier against other high schools, she came 1 in 100m with a fantastic time of 13.91 seconds, 1 in Long Jump with a jump distance of 4.58m, High Jump (1.35m) and she was also selectedto compete in the relay.
Olivia also achieved 2 new personal bests throughout the County qualifier for her 60m Sprint in 8.46 seconds and she placed 2 in Shot Put achieving her new personal best of 8.14m.
Paul Meikle - Swimming (Disability)
Paul has taken part in the British Transplant Games 11 times, winning over 30+ medals for swimming over the years. He was also selected by Team GB to participate in the Transplant Games in Malaga.
Sam Annis - Skiing
Sam ranked 5 in the Ul6 British Championships 2018 in Laax, Switzerland in Halfpipe, Big Air and Slopestyle.
Tom Annis - Skiing
Tom ranked 3 in the Welsh Freestyle Championships U16 2018 and 5 at the British Ski Championships inLaax, Switzerland in Halfpipe, Big Air and Slopestyle U12.
Gracie Shore - Dance
Gracie dances and competes at a National level, she has competed as part of an elite dance performance team at the All England Dance finals in London, her team were also crowned Senior Champions at ‘Can You Dance’.
Kinga Ingram - Cycling
Kinga is a British Cycling apprentice, she ranked 9 in the Nationals U16 youth girls and 7 in 2018 National Circuit. She placed 1 in the Skoda Omnium at Manchester Velodrome and 2 in the West Midlands Tour of Scotland.
