Key responsibilities
Head of the Council’s paid service and principal policy advisor to the Council. Leading and directing the workforce (>400 employees and a net budget of £12m) to achieve the council’s priorities. Line management responsibility for other members of the Corporate Leadership Team: three Corporate Directors and the Solicitor to the Council. Representing the council as appropriate at national, regional and local level. Returning officer for local and national elections and referenda.

Career information
Ian joined Wyre Forest District Council in December 2009. After 13 years in the civil service working on a number of areas of policy and legislation, he moved to local government in 2000 as head of finance, Welsh Local Government Association and then from 2002 as chief executive of Denbighshire County Council. From 2002 to 2008, Ian was also clerk to North Wales Fire Authority.

Tracey is the Council's statutory Section 151 Officer and has Directorate responsibility for 56 F/T and 44 P/T employees including the following areas: Financial Services, Procurement, Payroll, Internal Audit, Council Tax, Benefits, Customer Services and ICT.

Career information
Tracey joined Wyre Forest District Council in June 1979 straight from High School and studied for her professional qualifications while working across the Council in multiple roles taking the post of Group Accountant Housing in 1986 following her qualification as a Chartered Public Accountant. In January 1990 Tracey left the Council to start a family and returned in 192 in a temporary part-time project role covering the implementation of Compulsory Competitive Tendering legislation. In 1997 Tracey returned in a full time permanent capacity as Group Accountant. Following several financial roles Tracey was appointed to the post of Chief Financial officer in July 2013 and latterly as Director Resources from June 2017.
