Team shortlisted for national award following service improvements

News release issued:

We're pleased to announce that our Revenues and Customer Services team has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Most Improved Team category at this year's IRRV Performance Awards.

The prestigious awards, organised by the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV), recognise excellence and innovation across local government services. This year saw a record number of entries from councils and organisations across the country, making the team's achievement even more significant.

The nomination recognises the collective efforts of colleagues across Revenues and Customer Services, who have worked together to deliver major improvements for residents. These include strengthening recovery processes, increasing work processing speeds, enhancing the overall customer journey, and building stronger partnerships with both internal departments and external organisations.

Particular recognition was given to the team's work in supporting vulnerable residents, ensuring that those who need additional help receive the right support at the right time.

The shortlisting reflects the dedication, professionalism and collaborative approach shown by staff across the service, all with the shared aim of providing the best possible experience for residents.

Councillor David Ross Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Capital Portfolio at Wyre Forest District Council said

"We are very proud to have been shortlisted for the Most Improved Team award. Being recognised at a national level is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work and commitment of everyone across our Revenues and Customer Services team.  We recognise that we still have further improvements to make as our focus has always been on improving services for residents, making it easier for people to access support and ensuring we provide the best possible customer experience. To be named a finalist among a record number of entries is a real testament to the progress the team has made so far."

As part of the next stage of the awards process, the team will deliver a presentation to the IRRV judging panel, who will assess the finalists before selecting the overall winner.

The winners will be announced later this year at the IRRV Performance Awards ceremony.
