Music in the Park returns to Wyre Forest
News release issued:
Music will be filling Brinton Park, Kidderminster and Stourport Riverside Meadows this summer, thanks to a series of concerts organised by Wyre Forest District Council.
Music in the Park will see musicians performing in the bandstands on Sundays from 2pm – 4pm. The free musical showcases are part of the Council’s priority to bring more cultural events to the district.
The first performance takes place on Sunday 21 July at Riverside Meadows with Bewdley Concert Band. Brinton Park will be welcoming the Steve King Big Band as its first act on Sunday 28 July. Other acts include Got 2 Sing Choir, Jazz Alchemy, Fret Wolf and more. Across the parks, there is a programme of 12 concerts offering a mix of genres and something for everyone to enjoy.
The full programme can be found on the Council’s “What’s On” webpage.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts and Community Safety said,
“We are thrilled to be supporting local musicians in our parks this summer. We want our parks to be welcoming, vibrant spaces for the community, with music being a great way to bring people from all walks of life together. Visitors are welcome to bring a deckchair or picnic rug and a picnic to any of the venues to make the most of a relaxing afternoon.”
