New Health Action Plan for district
News release issued:
An updated Health Action Plan to tackle health inequalities in the district is being discussed by Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet.
The key themes of the plan are helping people manage their health, services for vulnerable adults, helping people stay connected, giving people the best start in life, tackling heath inequalities and protecting our health.
The plan has been devised by Wyre Forest District Council and supports the priorities of the Wyre Forest District Collaborative. As well as Wyre Forest District Council, the Collaborative includes partners such as Worcestershire Public Health, the two Primary Care Networks (Wyre Forest Health Partnership and the Wyre Forest Network of Independent Practices), West Mercia Police, Onside Advocacy and Age UK. They are working together to help deliver the Being Well in Worcestershire Strategy in the district.
Councillor Chris Rogers, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for Housing, Health and Wellbeing said:
“By undertaking our own actions and working with our partners our 2024 Health Action Plan offered help for many. Just a couple of examples include how the Warmth on Prescription project gave extra support for heating bills to vulnerable households with health conditions and the Family Coach Pilot project benefited more than 70 families with healthy eating and lifestyle support.
This year’s plan continues to focus on prevention, awareness and community support. We are aiming to create a healthier, more connected Wyre Forest where everyone can thrive."
The Cabinet meeting is taking place at 6pm on Wednesday 18 December. It can be watched on the council's streaming webpage.
Full details of the 2025 Health Action Plan and an update on the delivery of the 2024 can be read in the Cabinet agenda which is available on the council's website.
