Town Hall transformation plans given green light by Forest District Council

Plans for the transformation of Kidderminster Town Hall have taken a step forward following Listed Building planning approval by Wyre Forest District Council.
Councillor Helen Dyke, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council and Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and Localism said,
“It’s great to see this planning application approved as the Town Hall transformation will be a fantastic asset to the town. It’s one of three major Kidderminster projects totalling £17.9 million funded through the Government’s Levelling Up Fund – a project specific fund to improve local areas across the country.
“We look forward to working with Kidderminster Town Council to realise the ambitious and exciting transformation of Kidderminster Town Hall which has been a historic feature of the town for so many years.”
Charlotte Gallen from Glenn Howells Architects says: “The revival of the Grade II listed Kidderminster Town Hall will create a new cultural, music and community meeting space, that also breathes life back into the local high street whilst still maintaining its vital local government functions. Our bold but sensitive regeneration of this much-loved heritage asset will see key heritage features carefully restored, celebrated and complimented by the new interventions. The project has been developed in collaboration with local Councillors and heritage consultants, to ensure that the venue is sustainable and secured for future generations.”
