Wyre Forest landlords urged to come forward

News release issued:

Landlords who own properties in Wyre Forest are being urged to contact Wyre Forest District Council if they are able to provide safe accommodation for survivors of domestic abuse.

Wyre Forest District Council is committed to making sure domestic abuse survivors are given the support and assistance they need to live their lives free from abuse and harm.

The authority has a statutory duty to provide safe accommodation for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.

They would like to hear from landlords who own a self-contained 1-or 2-bedroom flat or house in the district available to lease for 2 years.

Councillor Nicky Martin, Cabinet Member for Housing, Health, Wellbeing and Democratic Services said: “We are calling on landlords to come forward to help us provide safe accommodation for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.

“If you think you can help, please email our Housing Project Officer, Rachel Symons at rachel.symons@wyreforestdc.gov.uk.”
