Grab a jab - Saturday 11 September 2021

News release issued:

Following the success of the walk-in Covid vaccination clinic in August, another one is set to open at Kidderminster Medical Centre this Saturday 11 September.

Anyone aged 16 or over who needs to have their first or second vaccinations, can ‘Grab a Jab’ with no appointment needed.

The vaccination clinic will be available from 10am until 2pm at Kidderminster Medical Centre, Waterloo Street, Kidderminster DY10 2BG. There is no need to book, just turn up and have a vaccine.

265 people attended the last clinic on Saturday 21 August with 115 people receiving their first jab.

Public Health in Worcestershire, Wyre Forest Health Partnership and Wyre Forest District Council are working together to make it easier and more convenient for people to get vaccinated.

Councillor Helen Dyke, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said: “We were delighted with the amount of people who came along to August’s pop-up clinic and received their first or second vaccine.

“Following its success we have been working with partners and volunteers to organise one in September. I’d like to thank them all for supporting us to set up and run this ‘Grab a Jab’ clinic and I urge you to go along if you haven’t been able to get the jab.”

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said:

Thank you so much to everyone who has come forward so far. You are doing your bit to protect yourself and your loved ones and the community around you.

“Walk-in clinics like this one have been making it much easier and more convenient for people to come forward to get vaccinated.

“If you are in the Kidderminster area and haven’t been able to get the jab, here’s your opportunity to get vaccinated.”

This walk-in clinic is part of an ongoing initiative to give those who haven’t already had their first vaccination an opportunity to do so, as well as encouraging the take up of second doses.

Booking prior to attending the clinic is not needed making it simple and easy to get a jab. It is not necessary to be registered with a GP to receive a vaccination.
