Local Plan online public hearings get under way

Public hearings into Wyre Forest District Council’s Submitted Local Plan will get under way next week.
The online hearings, which will take place on selected dates from Monday 11 January until early February, will be undertaken by Ms Mary Travers, the Planning Inspector appointed to examine Wyre Forest District Council’s Submitted Local Plan.
The first hearing will start at 9.30am on Monday 11 January and can be viewed at www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/localplanhearings. Members of the public are encouraged to watch the examination hearings, which will include a mix of morning and afternoon sessions.
The Local Plan identifies where development sites for homes and business will be and the services and infrastructure needed to support them. The council carried out public consultation throughout the process of developing the Local Plan and received more than 1,000 responses from more than 500 respondents across the district. It was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination at the end of April 2020. The public examination is the next step in its adoption.

This includes information on what ‘Matters and Questions’ Ms Travers intends to explore during the hearings and a timetable of which matters will be heard on particular days.

“This is a major milestone in determining the future development of the district for the next decade and beyond.”
