Wyre Forest Leisure Centre awarded top marks on ‘Quest’ for excellence

News release issued:

Leisure industry quality assessor Quest has awarded Wyre Forest Leisure Centre with an ‘Excellent’ rating, recognising high quality within UK Sport and Leisure.

An industry standard developed by the UK Sports Council, Quest acknowledges the centre has excellent measures and procedures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Quest Prime assessment included an unannounced mystery visit and a full day assessment carried out by an industry professional.

Assessors from Quest looked at a range of factors which included general pandemic management and the approaches to engaging with customers who are not using the facilities.

Places Leisure manage Wyre Forest Leisure Centre on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council.

Councillor Graham Ballinger, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Safety said: “We are delighted Wyre Forest Leisure Centre has received an ‘Excellent’ rating.

“The leisure centre is the only Places Leisure site to achieve an ‘Excellent’ rating in the Quest Prime category. I’d like to thank and congratulate everyone who has helped make it such a success with a special mention to council officers who were successful in obtaining the assessment funding from Sport England.”

Stuart Booton, Wyre Forest Leisure Centre’s Contract Manager said: “The whole team at Wyre Forest should be applauded for their hard work, commitment and diligence.

“The assessment was undertaken when the centre was concentrating on restarting and recovering many elements of the business. I was particularly delighted to receive an excellent mystery visit result which encompasses 30% of the overall score. I believe this demonstrates the true quality and strength within the centre.”
