‘Grab a Jab’ in Kidderminster this Saturday

News release issued:

A pop-up vaccination clinic is set to open at Kidderminster Medical Centre this Saturday 21 August.

Anyone aged 18 or over who needs to have their first or second vaccinations, can ‘Grab a Jab’ with no appointment needed.

Young people aged 16 and 17 who are now eligible to receive their vaccinations are advised to wait until they are invited.

The walk-in vaccination clinic will be available from 10am until 2pm at Kidderminster Medical Centre, Waterloo Street, Kidderminster DY10 2BG. There is no need to book, just turn up and have a vaccine.

Public Health in Worcestershire, Wyre Forest Health Partnership and Wyre Forest District Council are working together to make it easier and more convenient for people to get vaccinated.

Councillor Helen Dyke, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said: “I am grateful to all partners and volunteers who are supporting us to set up and run this ‘Grab a Jab’ clinic, providing yet another opportunity to make sure residents of Wyre Forest can have their first or second vaccine as soon as possible.”

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: “Walk-in clinics like this one have been making it much easier and more convenient for people to come forward to get vaccinated.

“Thank you to everyone who has come forward so far. Vaccination is so important, not only because it protects the person receiving the vaccine, but it also helps to protect loved ones and the community.

“If you are in the Kidderminster area and haven’t been able to get the jab, here’s your opportunity to get vaccinated.”

This walk-in clinic is part of an ongoing initiative to give those who haven’t already had their first vaccination an opportunity to do so, as well as encouraging the take up of second doses.

Booking prior to attending the clinic is not needed making it simple and easy to get a jab. It is not necessary to be registered with a GP to receive a vaccination.
