Additional Restrictions Grant available for businesses significantly impacted by national lockdown
Businesses that have been forced to close during the second national lockdown and were not eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant, can now apply for the Additional Restrictions Grant and receive a one-off payment.
The Additional Restrictions Grant is also available to businesses that have been allowed to stay open but have had a significant financial impact because of the national lockdown restrictions, such as those that supply the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. It is these businesses, along with those outside of the business rates system and were forced to close which the scheme looks to prioritise.
Councillor Graham Ballinger, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said:
"The council is pleased to be able to assist businesses who haven't been eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant with the Additional Restrictions Grant. Since the beginning of this pandemic, Wyre Forest District Council has handed out £22,734,000 in grants to local businesses, which has been a lifeline for many of them, in addition to offering advice, signposting and other support. We are also focussing the support on businesses in the events sector which have been unable to operate since March.”
Councillor Fran Oborski, Deputy Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said:
“The council will administer and pay out these latest grants as soon as possible. Lots of information and support about the grants, eligibility criteria, and a link to the online application form is available on our website www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk - see the direct link below."
The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) is available for businesses that are operating within the boundaries of Wyre Forest District Council and had been actively trading before 5 November 2020. The ARG will be open to applications until 18 December.
