Call to Wyre Forest rate paying businesses

As Government business grants continue to make a critical difference to Wyre Forest businesses affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Council is calling for eligible businesses who have not yet contacted the Council, to get in touch.
Wyre Forest District Council’s Revenues team has been working around the clock to get business grants into the bank accounts of eligible businesses. So far in Wyre Forest, £16.32 million pounds has been paid to 1,372 businesses.
The Government recently announced as part of the national response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that it would pay £10,000 to all businesses that receive small business rate relief, and up to £25,000 to eligible businesses in the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors depending on their rateable value. One of the Government’s conditions is that businesses had to be on the rating list on 11 March 2020. Businesses that have formed subsequently or do not appear on the rating list, because they do not own or rent separate premises, are not eligible.
Councillor Graham Ballinger, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said,
“Our team has been working harder than ever to make sure all eligible business have the funds paid into their bank accounts as soon as possible. We want to hear from rate payers who received a business rates bill for 2020/21, were granted small business rates relief or retail discount and their premises has a rateable value less than £51k. If they haven’t already heard from us, please get in contact by email, including a contact phone number and their business rates account number as shown on their bill.
