Council announces resignation of long-serving councillor28 November 2018
Wyre Forest District Council has announced the resignation of Councillor Jamie Shaw, who represented the Areley Kings & Riverside ward in Stourport-on-Severn.
Commenting on the resignation, Councillor Stephen Williams, Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council, said “I was sorry to learn that Jamie has resigned because he cannot carry out his duties expected of a district councillor because of ill-health.
“He was our second longest-serving councillor with almost 32 years service across two terms, and had been Leader of the Council for a total of eight years between 1989 and 1999.
“I am sure that colleagues would wish to join me in thanking him for his long and dedicated service to the council and in wishing him well for the future.”
