Adaptations, Improvements and Repairs

Adaptations and Improvements

We are able to offer assistance to ensure properties are kept to a suitable standard. This is done through a number of schemes such as Landlord Assistance, Disabled Facilities Grants and Home Repair Assistance

Disabled Facilities Grants

Disabled Facilities Grants are a source of funding towards works that help people remain in their own home through the adaptation of their property. Typical works might be a stairlift to access a first floor bathroom or a level access shower for a person of limited mobility.

Disabled Facilities Grants are available for people with disabilities who require essential adaptations to give better freedom of movement into and around their home and to access essential facilities within it.

All applicants must undergo a financial means test, unless the grant is for a disabled child. This will indicate what, if any, financial contribution must be made.

In order to know if you are eligible, the first step is an assessment of need through the Occupational Therapy Service who act for the County Council. If you are eligible then Care and Repair Worcestershire Agency will help guide you through the process.

The works are limited to what is necessary, we will also consider whether the works are appropriate to the property.
